Cuvée La Guerre Rosé 2019
Vinařství Válka

Vinařství Válka is a small family winery founded in 1991 by Karel Válka. It is believed to be the first registered winery after the fall of the Communist government in late 1989. The winery was certified Organic in 2012 and currently has 8 hectares under cultivation. The winery offers three product lines, with a focus on terroir-driven styles of wines. Vinařství Válka is located in the wine sub-region Velké Pavlovice | Moravia.

Karel Válka is the lead winemaker, transitioning this to his very talented son, Vojtĕch.

This is an incredibly sophisticated rosé with a long finish made from late harvest Cabernet Moravia and Frankovka (Blaufränkish) grapes. Perfect for summer sipping and food pairings.

About Us

We’re John and Brenda Steinsky from PEI. John is a proud first-generation Czech Canadian. Since May 2018, he has served as an Honorary Consul for the Czech Republic in PEI and New Brunswick, also covering Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in an “acting” capacity. In addition to providing consular services to Czech nationals in these provinces, John was keen to promote “economic diplomacy” with Atlantic Canadians, by sharing Czech goods and services they otherwise might not have access to.

Beer and wine seemed like good fits given the proliferation of craft brewing in the Maritimes and local interest in "new old-world wines." Czech wine is often described as "the best wines you’ve never heard of." We’re hoping to change that!
